LA GRANGE

The village of La Grange is a historical town that values tradition, community, and service.  From the historical society that created an archive that chronicles just about every home in the village, to the active business association that helps support the trendy restaurants and boutiques that draw visitors from all over, this village has thrived on blending the traditions of the past while welcoming the new.

Village streets feature majestic vintage Victorian and Gilded Age homes that sit in harmony next to modern new construction, beautifully designed condo buildings and solid Mid-Century architecture.  A variety of home styles and prices can be found throughout La Grange, from the $300,000 range to over $2 million.

The vibrant Central Business District and West End downtowns of La Grange feature dozens of upscale and casual restaurants and bars, trendy clothing and niche home decor boutiques, a long established lighting, hardware and housewares shop, a movie theater and so much more.  Whatever you're in the mood for, La Grange will have it whether it's dining in an elegant indoor bistro, an ivy-covered beer garden or a rooftop bar.

From serene Gilbert Park with its winding walkway, tennis courts and playground to active Gordon Park with its ball fields, handball courts, splash pad, playground and exercise path, there are several parks in town to entertain the family and enjoy the outdoors.

Speaking of the outdoors, festivals abound in La Grange, with the annual Pet Parade in June, the Endless Summer carnival and music fest, the Craft and Sidewalk Sale, the West End Art Festival and the annual Holiday Walk attracting visitors to town from all over.

The village is served by two very highly regarded school districts.  In addition to the public school districts, St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, St. Cletus Catholic School and St. John Lutheran School are also located within the village.  Nazareth Academy High School is just over the border in La Grange Park.
